Are you confident and self-assured?

If not, consider the possibility that you may be listening too intently to your inner critic.

Remember: it is your inner critic’s job to find fault. To nick-pick. And to belittle.

It is not the role of your inner critic to highlight your innate abilities, strengths, expertise, wealth of experience, and/or formal learning.

Therefore, you need to put your inner critic’s carping into perspective by:

  • Questioning the validity of derogatory and toxic comments (or thoughts).
  • Knowing your limitations, but not giving them more importance than they are worth.
  • Appreciating your abilities and strengths.

And by putting your inner critic’s negativity into perspective, you are helping to protect your self-esteem.
